Heat and power from the earth

Evonik New Energies is market leader in the field of planning, construction and operation of district heating supply systems on the basis of geothermal energy, with a current connected load of 105 megawatts. The company is a stakeholder in the Erding I and II geothermal energy projects in Unterschleißheim and Simbach-Braunau and is also involved in the "Research project to generate energy from hot dry rocks" in Soultz-sous-Forêts/Alsace. In the greater area of Kandel, Evonik New Energies is currently looking for suitable sites to locate geothermal power plants, where it is planned above all to generate electricity.
